Position: Dental Assistant

Community Health Partnership of Illinois is a is a non-profit organization that provides primary health care to migrant farmworkers and other medically underserved populations throughout northern and central Illinois that specializes in primary preventative medical, dental, and behavioral health service. Our focus is delivering quality, culturally responsive health care services to our patients, caregivers, and partners in the communities we serve.

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Dental Assistant to join our dental team. The Dental Assistant will assist the dentist during examination and treatment of patients, perform various administrative tasks, and ensure the smooth running of the dental office.

Responsibilities:

- Assist the dentist during dental procedures by handing them instruments, maintaining the patient's mouth dry, and providing patient comfort

- Take and develop dental x-rays

- Perform laboratory procedures such as making impressions of patients' teeth

- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques

- Sterilize and maintain dental instruments

- Schedule patient appointments and handle patient billing and insurance claims

- Maintain accurate patient records

- Ensure the dental office is clean and organized

Requirements:

- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant

- Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods

- X-ray certification is a plus

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

- Attention to detail

- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

Bilingual Spanish/English preferred but not required
