Join a Team Making Dental Care More Accessible in Kankakee

Community Health Partnership of Illinois (CHP) is a nonprofit community health organization providing medical, dental, and behavioral health services to underserved communities throughout Illinois.

We are looking for a compassionate and dependable Dental Assistant to join our Kankakee dental team. In this role, you'll work closely with our dentist and clinical team to provide welcoming, high-quality care to patients from diverse backgrounds.

Experienced Dental Assistants are encouraged to apply, and we also welcome candidates who have completed a dental assisting program or have relevant clinical experience and are eager to grow their skills.

What You'll Do

• Provide chairside assistance during dental examinations and procedures
• Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for patient care
• Assist with dental X-rays in accordance with applicable requirements
• Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment
• Take dental impressions and assist with other laboratory procedures
• Help patients feel comfortable and informed throughout their visit
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and preventive dental care
• Maintain accurate and confidential patient records
• Support appointment scheduling and other dental office functions as needed
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and patient-ready clinical environment

What We're Looking For

• Dental assisting experience, completion of a dental assisting program, or relevant clinical experience preferred
• Familiarity with dental instruments, infection-control practices, and sterilization procedures
• Dental X-ray qualification/certification preferred
• Strong communication and patient-service skills
• Dependable, organized, and attentive to detail
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a healthcare team

Compensation: $18–$21 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
